Les Chemins de l’amour – An Evening of Cabaret songs

Whilst the term ‘cabaret’ conjures up scenes of seedy, smoke filled rooms awash with drunken debauchery, it was actually an important meeting ground for the intelligentsia and a platform for highly skilled and talented performers. The cabaret reflected not just the popular culture of the times, but also served as a mouthpiece for important social and cultural commentaries.

The Sing Song Club, Singapore’s only art song collective, brings to you a selection of 24 cabaret songs in Les Chemins de l’amour – An Evening of Cabaret songs, composed by some of the most illustrious of composers that reflect a multitude of human emotions, attitudes, and observations.
