Bargain music downloads at 7digital
Dear Readers,
It’s a long time since I last posted – it’s been difficult to find time to – but I thought I’d start the new year, now thirty days old, I know, with an introduction to a website which I’ve been buying music from recently. It’s 7digital – the Singapore website is http://sg.7digital.com/, and it has some of the biggest bargains you can find online. Most are in high-quality 320kbps MP3 or M4A format – easily listenable on your iPhone or other portable audio player.
One of the biggest bargains is DG’s Wagner Edition – broken up into two parts, it’s true – that’s retailing for just $13.99 for each – 18 CDs for the first part and 25 CDs for the second.
Here are the links:

For about $27 you get the complete Ring by Jimmy Levine – one of the best modern Rings, Kleiber’s Tristan und Isolde, Jochum’s Meistersinger and Solti’s Parsifal and Lohengrin. Sinopoli’s Flying Dutchman and Tannhauser. The down side is that you don’t get the libretti but search online and you’ll find it easily enough.
Other bargains include Abbado’s first Mahler cycle on DG – still splendid, as well as complete Beethoven cycles for the price of a single bargain CD.
I hope this makes up a little for the radio silence that’s come over Inkpot – and if you find other bargains please be sure to include them in your comments!
